Joint Federation Meeting and Chapters of Election 2016  (view photo album)

July 5-11, 2016 over 40 Poor Clares of two federations from 18 monasteries in the U.S. and Canada gathered for a workshop with Fr. Michael Joncas, followed by their respective federation chapter of elections. The meeting was held at the Carmelite Spiritual Center in Darien, IL

Fr. Joncas’ workshop was on Liturgy, Music and Contemplation and included excellent material on the Eucharistic prayers combined with the arts woven through his presentations.

The sisters also worked with Dr. Pauline Albert who facilitated a process to help them develop a direction of working together for the next four years. The Mother Mary Bentivoglio and Holy Name Federation then each held their Chapter of Elections of leadership for the next four years.

The sisters of the MMB Federation elected: Sr. Claudia Phillips (Memphis, TN) as President, Sr. Charlene (New Orleans) as Vice President, and Sr. Marcia Kay (Spokane) as Councilor.

The HN Federation elected: Sr. Anne Bartol as President, Sr. Nancy Shively as Vice President, and Sr. Etta Patton, Sr. Jane Sorenson and Sr. Donna Padalino as Councilors.

Most of all, the Poor Clares enjoyed being together, sharing meals, stories and laughter as well as some intense working toward a hopeful future too!
